Fandom Friday: Favorite Anime Characters!

April 20, 2018

5 Fandom Fridays was a thing I used to do for a bloggers group I am a part of. That is no longer happening, but I decided to do my own Fandom Friday! This week's topic is favorite anime characters.

1) Vegeta

I have to say that my absolute favorite anime character by a long shot is without a doubt Vegeta (Dragon Ball Z, Dragon Ball Super). He has been my favorite since I was a pre-teen, and I have yet to encounter a reason to not like him. Vegeta is a Saiyan prince, and as such, he has a lot of pride. His character evolves from villain to hero, develops way more than the main hero, and eventually shows us that he is also the best father in the multiverse (probably).

2) Mey Rin

My favorite maid! Mey Rin is the shy and deadly maid of the Phantomhive estate (Black Butler). She has been handpicked by the demon butler himself to be part of a three-person private army that protects Young Master Ciel Phantomhive, while also doubling as housemaid. She breaks more things than she cleans, but when it comes to protecting those she cares about, few can outrun her guns.

3) Shizuo Heiwajima

Shizuo (Durarara!!) is my favorite rage-filled guy that nobody can beat up. Since he was a child, he has broken so many bones and had them replaced that it seems to have made him stronger. He is so strong that his scientist friend has always wanted to study him. Shizuo may be easily angered, but he is a good guy who stands up for others.

4) Shiro Fujimoto

Shiro (Blue Exorcist) is my favorite anime dad. He is an exorcist who raises twin boys, knowing that they are children of the devil. But he raises them with love to be extraordinary adults who go out of their way to do good in the world despite the challenges they are born with. Shiro was not given much screen time, and sadly his death furthers the plot, but we get to see more of how his kindness affected those around him throughout the series.

5) Rize Kamishiro

My list would not be complete without a villain. Rize (Tokyo Ghoul) really only appears in one episode, and then flashbacks, but she is such an evil person that she makes that big of an impression after one episode. Rize is a binge eater ghoul who loves to eat humans. She also loves to present herself as a sweet and innocent young woman and uses this image to lure unsuspecting young men to terrible deaths.

What do you think of my list? What are your favorite anime characters?
